Let’s make it to 10 000 steps today!

The easiest way to add more steps to your day is to add them to your routine and include walking instead of other forms of transportation when possible.

Here are a few examples:

Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator at work, at home or in shopping malls;

Get off the bus a few streets before your usual stop;

Take your breaks standing up or walk around your building instead of eating at your desk;

When heading to the corner store to get eggs and milk, walk instead of drive.

Why walking is so amazing

Walking is an extraordinary form of physical activity for so many reasons. For most of us, walking is already a part of our daily routine, which means with just a few adjustments and a bit of extra planning we can transform walking into an important source of exercise. Walking requires no special equipment or gym memberships and it helps us reach our destination, which makes it an accessible means of transportation. It also reduces our carbon footprint, so it’s a way to get moving that really respects the environment.
